What Does ErP Compliance Mean?

From 1 September 2013, the EU Energy-Related-Product (ErP) directive came into effect to enforce minimum performance requirements of LED lamps and luminaires.

Criteria:

Minimum Efficiency

For directional lamps: Having at least 80% of its total light output in a cone of 120º (including LED modules)

Colour Rendering

Minimum colour rendering index of Ra 80 (for indoor use)

Colour Consistency

Colour consistency within 6 SDCM

Power Factor

Minimum power factor of 0.9

icon

Switching Cycle Life

Minimum life of 15,000 switching cycles

icon

Warm-up Time

Minimum of 2 seconds warm-up time to 95% lumen output

icon

Failure Rate

Premature failure rate - lamp survival factor 6,000 hours
